As per reports, negotiations between Andreas Christensen and Chelsea have reached a deadlock with both parties significantly silent on the issue. At the moment Christensen’s future at Chelsea looks quite uncertain.

The 25-yrs-old Denmark international has become a key player in Thomas Tuchel’s team. With 10 starts in all competitions this season, Christensen is one of the main center-backs at the club.

His attributes have been praised by the Blues fans with him being at his personal best. He’s not only good on the ball, but also has a tremendous ball playing ability that is much needed in a wide-playing CB.

Chelsea reach stalemate during negotiations with Andreas Christensen

Christensen’s Chelsea deal is currently due to expire in 2022, and the Blues are determined to agree fresh terms with the defender in the coming weeks. As the decision is being delayed, the Blues are becoming over concerned. After a great campaign with Denmark in Euro 2020 and fine form, the Danish will be a target for many.

Previous reports suggested that Chelsea have put a contract forward with a pay rise. However, it will still make the CB one of the lowest earners at the club. Even though he is content with the club and the manager, the 25-yrs-old defender believes he deserves a significant increment in his salary.

Chelsea currently have 3 senior players at the CB spot mainly Christensen, former Paris Saint-Germain player, Thiago Silva and Antonio Rudiger. With 37-yrs-old Silva being injury prone, team skipper Cesar Azpilicueta tends to take up the role from time to time.

Recent reports suggest that Chelsea is planning to complete everything soon to announce Andreas Christensen.

In these few years, Christensen has really adapted to the Chelsea team, winning the Champions League, Europa League and the FA cup. He is undoubtedly one of the pivotal players in the impeccable Blues defence.

Therefore, Chelsea would not be looking forward for the exit of Andreas with him wanting to stay at the club.
