Serge Gnabry has been linked with various top clubs across Europe this season. The German winger is at the peak of his career at the age of 27 and has a year remaining on his contract with Bayern Munich. Several top European clubs have expressed their interest in the striker. Moreover, contract extension talks with Bayern are also on the table.

Serge Gnabry started his career at Arsenal before moving to Bayern Munich in 2017. He is an instrumental player for Bayern and his performances justify this. However, recently, reports emerged that said that the player is not happy with his role in the club. His unhappiness is due to his playing position under Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann.

The Athletic has suggested that Serge Gnabry is unhappy in the team and is looking for a move away. Chelsea interested.

Gnabry is primarily a winger. However, Julian Nagelsmann is playing him as a right-wing-back after the winter break. This is due to Bayern’s depth in the forwards. Thomas Muller, Leroy Sane, Jamal Musiala, and Kingsley Coman are some of the names in the Bayern forward department. This depth means that Gnabry has to compete heavily for playing time.

Moreover, he is already feeling the heat. Gnabry missed out on the starting XI 12 times for Bayern Munich in the Champions League. There is more competition in store for the next year. Sadio Mane has joined Bayern Munich from Liverpool. Playing time with the Bavarians seems to be scarce for Gnabry this summer.

According to the same report in the Athletic, Gnabry is unlikely to extend his contract this summer. He has refused to sign an extension with Munich amidst an offer of a salary worth €19 million from Munich. However, nothing is decided as of yet. Chelsea have expressed their interest in signing the player this summer. However, it is unlikely that Gnabry will join Chelsea. It is because of his past with Arsenal is why he is reluctant to join the Blues at Stamford Bridge
