Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson criticises few of the youngsters in the squad after defeat against Tottenham Hotspur on Friday.
The veteran boss brought three of his youngster to give them more energy at The Selhurst Park on Friday, but they did ‘nothing’. Palace were beaten 2:1 by Spurs as it was a dominant performance from the league leaders.
The home side enjoyed a bright start in the first-half but Guglielmo Vicario made some brilliant saves to deny Jordan Ayew and Odsonne Edouard. But own goal Julian Ward broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute.
Hodgson brought youngsters Jes Rak-Sakyi, Naouirou Ahamada and Matheus France off the bench to give his squad some legs. But they didn’t play upto the mark as the manager claimed that they made Palace more “weak”.

Speaking on the post-match press-conference, Hodgson discussed the matter and said :-
“There was no disappointment today.
“Although, maybe the young substitutes — who we like to think we can believe in and help us to a different level — didn’t show that.
“They didn’t do anything for us at all, really. We became much weaker when I made the substitutions.
“I thought it was an aggressive and quite-controlled first-half from our side, but of course the first goal then produces a second.
“That is when we start putting players on the field, players who have not really played with the first-team, Jes, Ahamada, Franca and we lost the intensity we were able to do in the first-half.
“In the end it became easy for them [Tottenham] to see the game through.”
However, Hodgson also believes the fact that these youngsters need time to settle down in the Premier League. These players comes with lot of reputation but they’re still young.
