Chelsea defeated AC Milan 3-0 at Stamford Bridge. It was a dominant performance from the Blues. Reece James was phenomenal for Chelsea in the match. Consequently, he was awarded the man of the match award for his amazing performances. It was a performance worthy of all the praise it is getting and some more. Now Pierre Emerick Aubameyang has also heaped praises on James. Aubameyang told HaytersTV that according to him James is the “best player in the world in his position”.
Speaking to HaytersTV, Aubameyang said:
“For me he’s (James) the best in the world at the moment. He’s doing an amazing job. A goal and assist today, he’s on top form.”
Not only Aubameyang, but the opposition players were too singing praises of Reece James. Chelsea target Rafael Leao too admitted that James is the ‘toughest opponent he has faced in his career to date. Rafael Leao speaking to somtosport.com was all praises for James. He said:
“James is a good player, he was all over me and everywhere at the same time, he timed his runs very fine. hardly talk about opposing players but this guy is actually the toughest I have faced I think. He scored a goal too against us and that’s something you don’t get from every defender”
Graham Potter thinks that James could become a Chelsea legend
The extraordinary performance by James has garnered appreciation from his manager as well. He said:
“James could play any game in the world, he’s tremendous. My job is to help him reach his potential because his potential is beyond the sky. We love him. He’s so important to us. My job is to help him reach his potential, and his potential is he can be a Chelsea legend.“
