Ornstein reveals Arsenal’s transfer plan ahead of January transfer window

Arsenal FC

Transfer expert David Ornstein reveals Arsenal’s transfer plan ahead of January transfer window as Gunners are linked with new striker lately.

Arteta already has the likes of Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka, Leandro Trossard, Eddie Nketiah and Kai Havertz in their ranks. But Gunners are in urgent need of a new centre forward for rest of the campaign.

Ahead of the January transfer window, Arsenal have already monitored the likes of Ivan Toney and Victor Osimhen and RB Liepzig’s Bejamin Sesko However, Club Sporting director Edu Gasper have still not given the greenlight to sign a new striker in the upcoming transfer window.

David Ornstein shared his views on the situation and said :-

“Havertz needs time and has Arsenal’s full support. When they next make a significant recruit, I reckon that will be a striker, but it will depend on all the normal factors like money, availability, existing options, injuries and more.

“There was no plan to sign a striker last summer and I suspect in an ideal world for Arsenal that would have been the stance for January, too, with the focus being on next summer. Let’s see if that changes, but I don’t know of it doing so yet.”

Campbell suggests Osimhen will be too expensive for Arsenal

Former Arsenal man Kevin Campbell suggests Victor Osimhen will be too expensive for Arsenal. He said :-

“You can get Ivan Toney and [Pedro] Neto for virtually the money you are going to spend on Osimhen.

“He has never played in the Premier League. Will he just automatically just transition to the Premier League? We don’t know. Two players that we know can come in and hit the ground running are Toney and Neto. £60 million. You take Toney all day long. £80 million. If someone says pay that and you win the title, then you pay it, don’t you?!

“You get Neto as well. You solve the problem of the Saka dilemma. And Martinelli because Neto can play on that side as well. But Toney is the key. He offers that big and strong striker, who can cause Man City problems. We have seen him cause Liverpool problems.”
