Man City poach the defender despite a record bid from Man United

Manchester City

Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Man City had carried off a sensational raid on longtime rivals Man United for their teenage defender.

For the most of the past ten years, English football has been dominated by the blue half of Manchester. In the post-Ferguson period, Man United has suffered greatly. The two teams’ respective transfer dealings at that time are chalk and cheese. Man United rarely hits in the market, whereas Man City rarely misses. Therefore, it will come as a shock to Man United supporters to learn that one of their most promising young players is about to join their close neighbours.

In July, Fabrizio Romano reported that Man City were very close to a deal for the 17-year-old centre back, Harrison Parker, from Man United’s academy. Man City reportedly had to hold off fierce opposition from four unnamed clubs to seize the lead for Parker. That, however, only provided a partial account of the events.

In fact, Fabrizio Romano claimed Man Utd had offered Parker a sizable offer, making Parker their highest-paid young player. Unfortunately, the most recent information from Romano indicates that Parker has not been swayed by the offer.

One of two outstanding Man City success is the Harrison Parker deal

Fabrizio Romano just quoted his prior tweet from July and added a tick to it on Friday morning to share the most recent information. In other words, Man City has completed their raid on Man Utd. Romano added that City will “formally complete” the coup later today in a further tweet, confirming the news.

Parker’s announcement could coincide with the news that Divine Mukasa, an England Under-17 international, will also be joining. Fabrizio Romano stated that Mukasa will be moving to the Etihad. But Newcastle had been courting the midfielder and had conducted a persuasive charm.
