Leandro Trossard to start in a new position
Arsenal will play their second leg of the round of sixteen of the Champions League at the Emirates Stadium. They have huge 7-1 lead coming into this tie. They ended the group phase in the third position. In eight games they earned 19 points. The club won six matches, drawn one and lost one match in the group stage run.
With that 6-goal lead, Mikel Arteta will be thinking to give minutes to the other players. He will be willing to maintain his side’s record so far in the Champions League this season. The team should be balanced though, with not securing a defeat or a draw as well.
Leandro Trossard will be starting as a centre-forward. He has got 4 goals in his last 28 games so far in the Premier League this campaign. While his overall G/A (goals + assists) is nine for this season. This can suggest that Mikel Merino will not be playing as the number nine for this fixture. And the Belgian can switch to the central role. With Martinelli on the wing, Trossard can have a lot of pace around him.
Few changes in the line-up for the 2nd-leg
Arteta will have a huge relief as he could give rest to most the players against PSV. In the defense we could see Ben White and Jakub Kiwior starting at the backline. Gabriel and Jurrien Timber will be resting as well.
Oleksandr Zinchenko and Jorginho in the midfield looks an option. With Martin Odegaard, Declan Rice and Thomas Partey on the bench.
