On Wednesday, Cristiano Ronaldo left Juventus training early with an arm injury. The issue will be addressed before the game against Empoli on Saturday.

The 36-year-old forward took a blow to his right arm after a challenge from Alex Sandro and was accompanied off the pitch by Juve’s medical team. Ronaldo did not feature in the starting XI in Sunday’s opener against Udinese.

Juventus unfortunately blew a two goal lead. CR7 came off the bench in the 60th minute to put the ball in the back of the net. However, VAR denied Ronaldo by ruling the goal offside.

Gaffer Max Allegri insisted that the decision was purely tactical.

What does the future look like for Cristiano Ronaldo?

Following the draw at Udinese, Juventus have revealed that they have not received any bids for Ronaldo this summer. They plan to keep at the club this season.

We mustn’t try to create sensational stories where there aren’t any. It was a decision shared with the player. At the start of the season, naturally he is not at top fitness. I can absolutely confirm Ronaldo will remain at Juventus this season,” said Juventus vice president Pavel Nedved.

Cristiano Ronaldo is on a deal that runs out at the end of the 2021-22 season. Clubs would have to pay around £25,000,000 to €30,000,000 to get him out of contract at Juventus.

For a player of his quality, despite being in his 30s, that price is an absolute bargain.

There are a handful of clubs who could afford Ronaldo, 36, with the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester City, Manchester United and PSG among them.

Reports from Italy suggest that Manchester City are the only club who could realistically afford to sign Ronaldo right now. PSG already have acquired Messi, Hakimi, Wijnaldum, Donnarumma and Ramos this summer.

The veteran’s options appear limited. But his agent, Jorge Mendes, has mentioned to Manchester City that Ronaldo is available. Reports state that the Portuguese superstar has no problem heading to City despite his previous allegiance to Manchester United.
