Chelsea are keen to move for another Manchester United player in January. The Blues made a loan deal for Jadon Sancho in summer. The Red Devils have been very unlucky with their transfers. They ended up paying a lot of money on quality players. But, most of their investments would turn out to be a massive failure. Same is the case for another one of their top stars. They would pay a mammoth €95 million fee for the then Ajax star. But since joining, Antony has barely managed to impress for them.
Antony to switch sides?
The 24-year-old will now be forever on the wrong side of the book for the Red Devils. He is one of their worst transfer in recent years. What makes it so much more awful is the amount of money Man Utd had to pay for him. It was Erik Ten Hag who brought him into the club. The Dutchman is already out from Old Trafford. And now the winger shall follow too. As per fichajes, Manchester United have made it clear that Antony can leave in January, Chelsea remain in contention. At the same time, Ajax and Flamengo are also keen.
Should Chelsea sign the Manchester United man?
So far he has been unable to prove himself at the top level. As per transfermarkt, he has 17 G/A in 87 appearances for the Red Devils. Yes, the Blues were able to sign Sancho and get a little better out of him. But, the Englishman had a good season with Dortmund already. At the same time, it’s not even that he has been so impressive either. Signing Antony too from Manchester United could be very risky business for Chelsea. He may be available for a bargain fee. But signing him could prove to be costly anyway.
