Chelsea will join the race for West Ham star Declan Rice in the summer, as the Blues are highly interested in the midfielder.
According to Florian Plettenberg from Sky Sports, Chelsea are still very much in the race for the prolific English midfielder. It appears that Rice has decided that his future lies away from the London Stadium. However, Todd Boehly is ready to pounce on the right opportunity.
Rice was nurtured at Cobham but released at the academy age of 14. Since his re-emergence at West Ham, Rice has heavily linked with a move back to the Stanford Bridge since Frank Lampard was in charge of the club.
West Ham have previously offered him a new contract worth £200,000 per week, which will make him the highest earner in the club. But Rice have declined every offer and it seems evitable that he will leave the club. He will fulfill his dream to play in the Champions League.

Rice told reporters about his desire to play in the Champions League:-
“One hundred per cent I want to play in the Champions League,
“For the last two or three years I’ve been saying that. I’ve been playing consistently well for my club and I feel like I really want to keep pushing. I see my friends here who are playing Champions League and for big trophies.
“You only get one career and at the end you want to look back at what you’ve won and the biggest games you’ve played in. I really want to do that.”
However, The Chelsea board have already shown that they are worried about spending in the transfer market, and signing Rice will be a blockbuster move. Pairing him with Enzo Fernandez would create a fearsome midfield for the Blues.
