Ben Foster made a revelation that he might join Arsenal or Steven Gerrard-led Aston Villa in the transfer window. He will exit Watford when his contract will expire at the end of this month. However, even at the age of 39, he have no plans of hanging his boots. He expressed his desire to continue his career at some other English club, in the Premier League preferably.
At Watford, he is on a wage of £30,000 a week and a starter as well. But at this age, he might not be a first-choice keeper anymore. When asked about the same, he admitted that and revealed he is ready to play second fiddle to a world-class keeper. He also named Arsenal and excited while mentioning about being the number two behind Aaron Ramsdale.

On his Fozcast podcast, The Cycling GK revealed: “If I’m signing for a club as a number two goalkeeper, it depends on the first-choice goalkeeper.”
“Say Arsenal or Aston Villa, where the first-choice goalkeeper I know is a world-class goalkeeper – Ramsdale or Martinez – I know I have a world-class goalkeeper in front of me, who’s still at an age where they are learning and they can get there because they’ve got the potential.”
“At that point, I will go ‘I’m going to help you maximise your ability and make sure you become an absolute monster or beast. I’d love to be able to do that. I would love to do that.”
Bernd Leno will exit the Emirates Stadium outfit and it’s only a matter of time. A goalkeeper of his calibre deserve first-team football. Arsenal, on the other hand, expected this outgoing and already signed a goalkeeper. As a replacement, they signed New England Revolution and US international Matt Turner who will be the second-choice keeper. Hence, the possibility of Foster joining Arsenal is faint.
