The return of Corentin Tolisso to Lyon gives Arsenal a big chance to sign the services of Houssem Aouar
The North London club’s middle looked shaky towards the end of the last season. Arsenal is trying to repair this problem by targeting the signature of Houssem Aouar of Lyon.
The Gunners have a high possibility of signing him. According to French outlet Foot Mercato Bayern midfielder, Corentin Tolliso has had several rounds of talks with Lyon. Tolliso is apparently pushing for a comeback to Lyon on a free transfer
The arrival of Tolliso means that Aouar is free to leave. Aouyar is a solid player and would greatly improve Arsenal’s midfield.

Thomas Paretey has been an excellent anchor for The Gunners. with Martin Odegaard tasked with creating chances in attack. However, they lack a midfielder who can carry the ball from defense to midfield. The Lyon man scored 7 goals in 30 games for the club. This is more goals than Arsenal’s central midfield combined. (5)
Houssem Aouar could be a great option in the number eight position. Currently, the number 8 is held by Granit Xhaka. The Frenchman managed to dribble past 55 players last season. Xhaka could manage only 11.
While his goal-scoring ability is impressive, it’s his ability to be press resistant that makes him such a valuable target for Arteta. It is his greatest strength in the field. His ball retention is similar to that of Marco Verratti of PSG.
Arteta has preferred to play a possession based system with slow build-up. Aouar could fit perfectly in the this Arsenal side. Aouar is an excellent prospect for Arsenal. Furthermore, his price of £12.6m would be a steal for The Gunners. This means that the club is financially less strained and can strengthen the other areas of the team.
