This second weekend of April, the ten matches valid for the 32nd date of the 2024-25 Premier League took place in England, where the most striking ones are Liverpool and Arsenal, who are fighting at the top of the standings to see who will take the title so they are one of the  must win teams.

Liverpool are starting to count down the days until they can win another Premier League title, something that hasn’t happened since 2020, when Jurgen Klopp was manager. It would be their 20th title across all English league formats, their second in the Premier League era.

With the victory against West Ham (2-1) this Sunday with a goal from Luis Díaz assisted by a record-breaking Salah and another from Van Dijk, next weekend if they beat Leicester and Arsenal fall to Ipswich, they will be champions as many football predictions sites are predicting.

Liverpool has 76 points from 32 matches, while Arsenal has 63.

The match started evenly, with a standing ovation for Egyptian Mohamed Salah, whose contract recently renewed until 2027. The striker was eager to demonstrate, as the Reds’ first clear chance came from his boots in his signature move. He received the ball on his right foot, curled around to his good foot, and his curled shot to the far post went wide.

He was able to redeem himself in the following play, assisting Luis Díaz with his outside foot, who only needed to tap it in (17′). It was a very special goal for the striker, as he became the first player since the league began with 38 matchdays to be involved in 45 goals in a single season.

In the 86th minute, Robertson scored an own goal, attempting to clear a cross and putting it into his own net.

A goal that revived Liverpool, who went all out. Luis Díaz hit the crossbar, Mac Allister met Areola, and a corner taken by the Argentine himself led to a diving save from Van Dijk to make it 2-1.

I love this club, says Van Dijk

Van Dijk, “proud” to have worn the Reds’ captain’s armband for the 100th time, left another clue about the likely renewal. “Everyone knows I love this club,” the Dutchman declared. Next Sunday could be decisive, as if Arsenal lose at Ipswich and Liverpool win at Leicester, the Reds will secure their long-awaited 20th league title, equaling Manchester United’s record for the English team with the most championships.
