Liverpool Player Ratings for a dominating win over Leicester City| Jota rated 10

Leicester City

Here we have with us the Liverpool Player Ratings for their commanding win against Leicester City. The Reds took down the Foxes 2-0 at Anfield during their Premier League clash on Friday.

Jurgen Klopp‘s side were on the front foot right from the start. James Maddison came very close to opening the scoring of the night, but that’s just it from the Leicester side. The Reds kept pushing for a goal while maintaining their dominance. A 36th-minute goal from Diogo Jota was the only difference in the first half.

The Merseyside outfit entered the second half with similar energy and pressure. The team came close multiple times but were shut out by heroics from the Foxes’ GK Kasper Schmeichel. However, the final goal of the evening came in the 87th minute, after a cheeky pass from Joel Matip was buried in by Jota, taking the tally to 2-0.

Liverpool Player Ratings vs Leicester

Alisson Becker (GK) (7): Hardly had to do anything and made just one save. Clean sheet locked.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB) (7): Constantly created threats from crosses and set pieces. Could have scored a goal but lacked precision.

Joel Matip (CB) (8): Solid at the back and errorless throughout. Assist for Jota’s second goal.

Virgil Van Dijk (CB) (7): Cancelled all threats well and completely shut out Patson Daka.

Andrew Robertson (LB) (8): Took control of the left flank and was on point with dangerous crosses.

Thiago Alcantara (CM) (7.5): Completely dominated the midfield with skills and precise passes.

Fabinho (CM) (7.5): No mistakes during defensive duties and canceled out most of the opposition’s attacks.

Curtis Jones (CM) (6.5): Solid ball movement but still has a long way to go.

Diogo Jota (RW) (10): An example of being at the right place at the right time. Scored two precise goals to grab the victory.

Luis Diaz (LW) (8): Shone in the full debut. Full menace to deal with for the Foxes backline. On point dibbling and pace.

Roberto Firmino (ST) (7): Efficiently linked up play between attack and midfield and between the two wingers.

Substitutes

Mohamed Salah (RW) (7.5): On his toes throughout and troubled the backline. Came close a few times but was shut out by Schmeichel.

Harvey Elliott (CM) (6.5): Linked up well with Salah on the right flank.

Takumi Minamino (LW) (5): Hardly had any chance to influence the game.
