Arsenal FC

The agent of William Saliba met with the president of Olympique Marseille in London on Monday evening. The meeting occured amid speculations of Saliba’s long-term future at Arsenal. However, no one can be sure about the purpose of this meeting other than them.

Saliba spent the last season on loan at OM from the North London club. Since his arrival at Arsenal in the summer of 2019, he had 3 different loan spells for 3 different clubs. Also, he is yet to make a senior appearance for the Gunners.

Many are speculating that another loan spell might ensure Saliba will leave the club without ever playing for them despite having loads of talent. On the other hand, Saliba’s agent Djibril Niang is also the agent of OM defender Isaak Toure. Also, OM are currently in London for their pre-season.

Saliba is back at Arsenal

However he is now back at Arsenal participating in the pre-season friendlies for them. The France international performed very well in all the friendlies he played and Arteta is full of praise for him. He said:

“I am really pleased to see the way he is playing, the way he has adapted to the team, the maturity that he’s shown at 21 years old, carry on doing it. We will keep developing him. He has huge potential. He is already a top player and we have to make him even better.”

Talking about his fighting plan to break into the first team, Saliba said:

“My plan is to fight and work with the team, win as much as possible, and grow more. It feels good to be back and starting pre-season. I’m so excited to continue training and playing in the friendly games. It’s important to be here with the fans, as well as my team-mates. I hope we’ll enjoy some good training and games which is important before the start of the season.”
