Arsenal FC

Arsenal lost against NewCastle United 2-0 in the Carabao Cup semi-finals.

The Gunners loss against Newcastle United:

Mikel Arteta said that the Gunners will win anyway even though they are short of attackers. However, that was not the case and they lost against NewCastle United 2-0. The Gunners recently ended with a draw against Brighton at home. They had their first home defeat against Newcastle United now.Arsenal were heartbroken. This is because, they already dropped points in the Premier League. Also, now they have a difficult match at St James’s Park in the second leg. Mikel Arteta is trying to make more and more tactical changes to fix the front and backlines and adapt with injuries.

Post Match Analysis:

Alexander Isak was one of the best players in the match. Arsenal are still trying to sign him to the team as well. In the first half, he scored the first goal for NewCastle United. He was suspected of making a push to Martin. However, the goal still stood. Arsenal entered the second half with 1 goal down. Arsenal had a few chances in the first half, especially the one where Martinelli hit the post. Kai Havertz who returned after his illness missed a crucial opportunity in the second half as well. Anthony Gordon scored another goal for NewCastle United in the second half and made it 2-0 for them. The match ended 2-0 in a victory for Newcastle United.

Author’s Opinion:

St James’s Park will be tough for Arsenal. Arsenal does not really have a chance in reaching the finals of the Carabao Cup in my opinion. Newcastle United is way too strong and is undefeated for 7 games now. Arsenal have been facing a lot of injuries too. Kai Havertz have been playing really terrible at the same time too. The Gunners are already on the lookout to get a goo striker in the squad before its too late.
