Thiago Alcantara won’t be available for Liverpool against Manchester city

Liverpool FC

Liverpool has been dealt an injury blow to Thiago Alcantara ahead of their upcoming Premier League game against Manchester City. Thiago Alcantara has been injury prone ever since he joined Bayern Munich in 2020. Liverpool needs to do extremely well to have a positive outcome from the Etihad. Thiago Alcantara could be playing Europa League football next season.

The injury woes continue for Liverpool as Thiago Alcantara not available vs Manchester City

The Reds do not have midfielder Thiago Alcantara for the trip to Manchester City.

Football Insider claim the Spaniard has not recovered from a hip injury in time to feature in the match.

Thiago Alcantara has looked sharp and at his usual best when he plays. That is where the problem lies as well sadly. He never played consistently enough for Liverpool. 30 million euros was the amount Liverpool paid for him. He has often been disappointing in big games and failed to play in important games which eventually cost them. The Champions League game vs Real Madrid is an example of this.

Liverpool needs to be back on the winning route with no time to waste

Liverpool will travel to face Manchester City at the Etihad on Saturday in a match that could have a major impact on both the title race and the battle for the top four but Thiago Alcantara won’t be there. They, unfortunately, won’t have the service of Thiago Alcantara and Luis Diaz.

Liverpool, meanwhile, are seven points off the Champions League places and will be desperate for a positive result this weekend. With games against Chelsea and Arsenal coming up they need to sharp again quickly.

The Champions League spots would be tough for Liverpool this season. They have a tough running ahead and injuries haven’t helped the cause either. However, Liverpool will look to replicate what they have done during the 2020/21 season this time as well.
