Jesse Lingard dilemma for West Ham United

Manchester United

West Ham United seem cynical about bringing Jesse Lingard back to the London Stadium.

Lingard joined West Ham on loan in January. He was devastating for David Moyes side, making an immediate impact. The forward amassed a stunning 9 goals and 5 assists in 16 appearances.

He aided them to finish sixth, thus qualifying for this season’s Europa League

The Hammers are now reportedly vying for a permanent deal for him. However, Manchester United boss Solskjaer has stated that the Englishman is still a part of the squad.

Jesse Lingard’s return

Jesse Lingard his way back into the England squad – featuring in the warm-up games ahead of Euro 2020. Although, he did not make the squad for the tournament itself.

He is now back in pre-season training with Manchester United. The forward featured in their recent warm-up games against QPR and Brentford.

West Ham are now of the opinion that they have only a ‘10% chance’ of bringing Lingard back to the club.

The 28-year-old’s contract runs out in September. It is believed that the Red Devils have priced him at £30,000,000. This places an obstacle before David Moyes’ side who are still in pursuit of his signature.

Jesse has come back, he’s been bright and he wants to fight for his place,” said manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

There’s nothing better than seeing players willing to fight for their place. Of course, what he did towards the end of the season, that is the true Jesse.

Solskjaer affirmed that Lingard was in his plans. He mentioned that he expected to see Lingard at the club for the start of the season.

If unsuccessful, Moyes will have to look elsewhere for a like-minded player. Given Lingard’s impact last season, it will be a tough task for The Hammers’ boss.
