Newcastle United are reportedly ready to make a bid to sign Lyon playmaker Lucas Paqueta. His agents are also looking at other options in the Premier League.
The midfielder is desperate to leave Lyon in this transfer market. Lyon are also open to selling him for the right price this summer.

According to reports, Newcastle are preparing a bid for Lucas Paqueta. The Magpies also tried to sign him in January. However, the playmaker decided to complete the season with Lyon in France. However, now Paqueta is ready to leave the Ligue1 club. Hence, his agents have offered him to a number of clubs in the Premier League.
The Magpies were targeting the signing of James Maddison. They also bid 50m for the Leicester playmaker. However, multiple bids were rejected by the Foxes. Hence, it looks like Newcastle United have made Lucas Paqueta their priority. However, the player is yet to be convinced by the Magpies despite his best friend Bruno Guimares excelling at the club.

The report also states Lucas Paqueta might not be the only target this summer. According to reports, Newcastle United are now close to signing Real Sociedad striker Alexander Isak for a record transfer fee. They are also in concrete talks with Chelsea for Connor Gallagher on a loan deal. The Magpies are also targeting a right-winger signing this window.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has also claimed that the Magpies will now decide on the signing of Joao Pedro after agreeing on a fee with Watford. However, there are also claims that Everton are trying to hijack Pedro’s bid. The Toffees want the Brazilian to replace Anthony Gordon if he signs for Chelsea. Hence, a deal for the Magpies and Joao Pedro is currently stalling.
