Real Madrid are interested in signing English midfielder Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund. According to Cardena SER, Real Madrid will make an offer worth €90 million to test the waters for a possible Bellingham move. However, it seems unlikely that Bellingham will get to leave the club.
He has signed a contract with Borussia Dortmund till 2025 with no release clause. This means it is going to be tough for Los Blancos to wrap the deal up for anything less than €100 million.
The fantastic midfield and attack at Real Madrid
Bernabeu already have a fantastic midfield. They have signed Aurelien Tchouameni in this transfer window. Now, if this deal is completed, Los Blancos will have four amazing players in 2023: Bellingham, Valverde, Camavinga, and Tchouameni. This is an extremely stacked midfield with a lot of potential and talent. If the Bellingham deal is done, then Real Madrid will have their midfield issues sorted for the next 7-10 years.
However dreamy it might look, the transfer fee is a hefty sum. The Englishman is only 18. Real Madrid spent only 25 million on another 18-year-old Camavinga.
No one can deny that Bellingham can add a lot of stuff that the three midfielders lack. His footballing ability is way beyond his age too. However, €100 million is a lot of money for the player. It almost seems wasteful at this point given the midfield options that Real Madrid has.
If Los Blancos can sign Bellingham, it’ll be a great investment for them. However, if they miss out, no great harm is done. There are three immensely talented and young midfielders with Real Madrid. The three midfielders have a big job now. They have to fill in the boots of the famous midfield trio of Real Madrid trio of Toni Kroos, Casemiro, and Luka Modric.
