Arsenal ready to sell Aubameyang in the upcoming transfer window: What should be the player’s next move?

Arsenal FC

As per recent reports, Arsenal is ready to offload Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the next transfer window. The club will now entertain offers for the player, who has been the center of much criticism lately.

The Gabon international has been struggling to give results this season, having scored just 4 goals in the Premier League. Atop that, his recent disciplinary breach resulted in him being stripped off of his captaincy.

As punishment, the player has now been kept out of the main squad for 4 fixtures, three of them being PL ones. Amidst all this, the Gunners will now be open to selling the Gabonese in the January transfer window, even though he signed a three-year contract last year.

Continued discipline breaches unacceptable by Arteta

The current discipline issue is not the first for the player. The 32-years-old striker has also been subject to a discipline issue last season. Due to it, he was left out of the squad in their North London Derby against Tottenham Hotspur, last season.

Mikel Arteta has constantly mentioned it in public that there is no forgiveness for not maintaining discipline. Neither he nor any other player is above the rules and regulations governing the club’s management. Arsenal’s statement on the current issue read:

“We expect all our players, particularly our captain, to work to the rules and standards we have all set and agreed.

While the Gunners were ready to transfer out Alexandre Lacazette, it seems as the plan has been put on hold. Following Aubameyang’s recent business, the Frenchman has been given the captain’s armband. The striker who was in speculations to join AC Milan, is likely to continue in England for the foreseeable future.

What should be the next move for Aubameyang after leaving Arsenal?

No matter the criticisms, it is no doubt that the player is a top striker who has proved himself in the English top flight. In 18/19, the player ended the season with 22 goals in the PL and repeated the same feat in the following season. The former captain is also an FA Cup and Community Shield winner. Therefore, his footballing talent should not be overlooked because of his behaviour. As a result, the Spanish manager will be ready to reinstate the player in the squad, if he is ready to mend his ways.

However, the current situation suggests that the Gabonese will make a move outside of England, with Juventus and FC Barcelona showing increasing interests. What the future holds for the player is just a matter of his attitude now.
