Wright claims Aaron Ramsdale might consider leaving Arsenal

Pundit Ian Wright claims Arsenal GK Aaron Ramsdale might consider leaving Arsenal this January after falling out of favour with Mikel Arteta.

After a horrific start to the season, David Raya replaced Ramsdale between the sticks at Arsenal. The Three Lions international was handed his first start since September in the Carabao Cup.

However, Ramsdale only featured because Raya was ineligible to feature against Brentford. The 25-year-old have a uncertain future in front of him as he might leave the North-London club this January.

Wright claims Ramsdale needs a better playing opportunity elsewhere

Speaking on the Wrighty’s House, Ian Wright predicts Ramsdale’s future and said :-

“There’s no way, as we speak, he’s not [weighing up his options].

“Even just because of that performance, because I watched Aaron Ramsdale last season, when he was playing regularly and, yeah, there were a couple of goalkeeping mistakes but nothing out of the ordinary.

“He’s got to be weighing up his options and that worries me. He has to be, he’s a number one goalkeeper. I can’t lie about it – I like David Raya, I love the fact that we’ve got two top goalkeepers, but it just feels a little bit unfair.

“He’s not done anything to get himself in a position like this, so it doesn’t feel right, it feels very ruthless. I just hope that something can work out, simply because I think he deserves better.

“I don’t want him to languish around our reserves, as a number two I should say. If Mikel has got plans on making David Raya our number one goalkeeper. As I want him to go and be the top goalkeeper that I thought he was going to be for us.”

Meanwhile, The Daily Mail suggests Ramsdale’s future have been closely monitored by Chelsea and Bayern Munich. Until that, he needs to fight of his place at Arsenal.
